Thanks for the article mate, just to mention that you need iTunesArtwork in order to get the icon on the organiser if you are using xCode 4.3.2

i have in my plist empty “Icon file” row and also “Icon files” row with 4 items
57×57,72×72,114×114,144×144 icons
but still i see the no icon in organizer

CFBundleIconFile

CFBundleIconFiles

Icon.png
Icon72.png
Icon@2x.png
Icon144.png

any more ideas ?

I had to define “Icon file” in info.plist to get the icon to appear in Organizer. However, I’d rather not have to do this since Apple instructs us to leave that item blank (QA1686).

Is there another way to define the icon to be shown in Organizer?

Wrong way! After months of waiting for an update I find that the app, had changes name and developer, is no longer associated to the purchaser of the previous version. Two weeks to notice? Great! You could find another way to protect older buyers. I’m very sorry.

iTunes wont stop you downloading it from the iTunes store. The odd thing is that it’s already marked as iPhone / iPod Touch compatible in iTunes. There is something preventing it from being synced to an iPod.

There’s another option you missed too: separate iPhone and iPod app stores (and you can start fresh with the iPad app store, using a different model and different presentation). This comes with its own issues, but solves more problems than it creates IMO.
